Typically it’s the blunders, bamboozles and boondoggles that make for the most entertaining blog posts. There’s no question, we’ve certainly seen our share of hilarious and sometimes even slightly dangerous road blocks as we’ve been covering Matt and Bill’s antics at the Do It Again Garage so far this year. Every once in a while, we are going to have a weekend that goes as smooth and sweet as Matt’s favorite flavor of ice cream (in case you’re wondering, it’s chocolate chip!) Not that we are complaining, but…

Good news to report since our last blog post. Bill’s finger is healing up nicely and his bruised ego is feeling better, too.

Thankfully, things went a lot more smoothly this past weekend. First off, our dynamic duo decided to go out and purchase a new acetelyne torch. They had suspected it wasn’t working properly when it didn’t help them blast that rusty bolt to smithereens the way it should have. Insurance expert, Matt, also convinced Bill to purchase a new fire extinguisher – just in case – since it was clear that accidents do happen at the Do It Again Garage on a pretty frequent basis.

Bringing back fond memories of that iconic Saturday morning cartoon, Scooby Doo, Where Are You? Matt and Bill are proud to announce their next auto restoration project. They’ll be renovating Bill’s 1962 Ford Econoline van, otherwise known as The Mystery Machine. Our two mechanics pulled the van onto the lift a week ago up at Bill’s home garage, since the Firebird is still taking up space at the Do It Again Garage. Once the Firebird is sold, the Mystery Machine will take its rightful place closer to home.

Over the past few weeks, Do It Again Garage partners, Matt and Bill, put the finishing touches on their 1969 Firebird. Our favorite mechanics made the necessary final adjustments to the shift linkage and the electric choke, and the scripts were evenly applied front and back. It was time to take this vintage beauty out on the road.
