The ‘Do It Again’ Garage crew are back from their trip to the Mecum Auction in Kissimmee, Florida. Everyone had a wonderful time and even though they didn’t purchase a car, they brought back some great memories and a few interesting observations from the show.
Upon their arrival, one of the first things Matt and Bill noticed was the sheer number of million-dollar vehicles around every turn. Originally, they had thought they might be able to find and purchase their next restoration project at the auction. Reality set in when they looked at most of the price tags.
Our group also learned quickly that Mecum was more of a sales venue than a purchase venue. With that in mind, they are planning to head back to another Mecum event this July, in Harrisburg, PA, to try to sell their 1969 Pontiac Firebird to the highest bidder!
Matt said he was especially inspired by all the one-of-a-kind cars showcased at the event. He has returned home to Amesbury with his passion for antique cars re-ignited, ready to get back into the garage.
Juliann enjoyed the chance to be the trip’s roving reporter, capturing the daily highlights on her camera. Spending time with Matt and Bill and stretching her photographic muscles was a lot of fun.
Bill’s also glad to be home. Despite the scooter rental, he did end up on his feet quite a bit, and he needs some time to rest and heal. Feel better, soon, Bill!
